Lake Area Technical College Among Top 10 Tech-Savvy Community Colleges

 Watertown, SD – The Center for Digital Education (CDE) has announced the winners of its 2017-18 Digital Community Colleges Survey in which Lake Area Technical College earned a Top 10 spot in the Small Colleges category (under 5,000). The survey awards honor community colleges utilizing technology to engage students, collaborate with K-12 and other educational institutions, and improve learning.

In its 13th year, the survey analyzes how community colleges use a range of technologies to improve services to students, faculty, staff and the community at large. The survey also revealed insights about community colleges’ technology priorities. Colleges surveyed indicated that mobility devices/app support is their top priority for the coming year, followed by cyber security tools and testing, website redesign/updates, upgrading classroom technologies, digital content and curriculum, and disaster recovery/business continuity.

All accredited U.S. community colleges were eligible to participate in the survey within three classifications based on size of enrollment. To see the results of the survey visit https://www.govtech.com/education.
