Diesel ThinkBIG Caterpillar Option
Big opportunities. Lake Area Tech is partnering with Butler Machinery Company dealerships in a cooperative two-year program called ThinkBIG that is fully accredited by the AED Foundation. As a ThinkBIG student, you will spend approximately half your time on-campus at Lake Area Tech. The remainder of your time will be spent on-the-job training at sponsoring dealerships. Students will receive a scholarship and paid internship package starting at $30,000. During the first year of the internship, students will earn wages starting at $16 per hour. You will graduate with an Associate of Applied Science degree in Diesel Technology, and an official Caterpillar endorsement. You will also have the opportunity for full time employment with a Butler Machinery Company dealership.
Our goal is to train you to diagnose, service, and maintain Caterpillar equipment using correct procedures, tools, and service information. You can expect to advance after additional experience, and understand new systems and components as they are introduced.
