The world of aviation and drone training is filled with opportunities! Lake Area Tech Corporate Ed offers classes related to small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS), commonly referred to as ‘drones.’ Whether an individual is interested in learning more about recreational drones or if more advanced knowledge is desired, we have the latest educational offerings! 

Current Aviation & Drone Training Courses

sUAS ‘Drone’ Remote Pilot Part 107 Course

In this five-week course, participants will gain knowledge about the regulations and procedures governing the safe and legal operations of small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS), commonly referred to as “drones”. In the hands-on portion of the workshop participants will experience VR goggles and will learn to fly a variety of drones.

The focus of this course coincides with the knowledge areas in the Federal Aviation Administration’s Part 107 airman knowledge test for a Remote Pilot Certificate with sUAS rating, and is intended to prepare participants who wish to become commercial sUAS pilots for the knowledge test.

Cost: $125 – Limited to 15 participants

The Recreational UAS Safety Test (TRUST)

Lake Area Technical College is an FAA-approved Test Administrator of The Recreational UAS Safety Test (TRUST). TRUST is a collaboration between the FAA and industry to provide TRUST and educational safety material to Recreational Flyers. Click here to access the test.
