How do I prepare for a Practical Nursing E-degree?
See Application Process. Because Practical Nursing is demanding, full-time students are required to complete the following prerequisite courses prior to starting the program. Part-time students are highly recommended to complete at least the majority of them.
|CPR 112||Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Workers||.5|
E-Degree part-time deadline is October 1, 2020 for the spring 2021 class.
E-Degree full-time deadline is March 1, 2021 for the fall 2021 class.
How does the Practical Nursing E-Degree work?
You will complete all Practical Nursing courses (except: English, Math, Anatomy and Psychology*) online. You will also visit the Lake Area Technical College campus for required clinical experiences, which will be organized into a short, intense time frame to reduce your travel. These instructor-monitored clinical hours include:
PN103 = 30 hours
PN113 = 30 hours
PN114 = 66 hours
PN201 = 30 hours
Additional remote clinical experiences include:
PN103 = 30 hours
PN113 = 48 hours
PN114 = 120 hours
PN201 = 140 hours
*These courses can be completed at Lake Area Technical College or at any accredited technical school or college.
Lake Area Technical College E-Degrees are “hybrid” education – an innovative blend of distance and on-campus learning. With hybrid education, you get maximum time/location flexibility and crucial clinical experience.
How long will this E-Degree take?
11 months (full-time) or 23 months (part-time).
