Disability Services

Lake Area Tech is committed to providing equal access to an educational experience through the provision of academic accommodations and by providing services that facilitate the academic and personal goals of each student in accordance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990, and the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act (ADAAA) of 2008. In accordance with federal law, students with documented disabilities are entitled to reasonable and appropriate educational accommodations. We are committed to helping students with disabilities self-advocate and fully participate in all of the activities, programs, and services available at Lake Area Tech. Disability services are available to students with qualifying and documented learning, physical, or psychological disabilities. Lake Area Tech hopes to empower students with disabilities to gain the necessary education and skills they need to have a satisfying and productive career after graduation.

Disability Services provides assistance for students with a wide range of disabilities. Your first step is to fill out the application for disability services. Along with this application, you’ll need to send documentation of the disability. After that, we’ll set up an appointment to discuss services we can provide that will enhance your learning experiences at Lake Area Tech.

If you have a documented disability and would like to receive accommodations, please provide the most recent copy of your IEP/504 plan or medical/psychological evaluations. When you have completed the admissions process, you will need to schedule an appointment with the Disability Services Coordinator to review your documentation and discuss possible accommodations that are available.

If you have any questions or want to know how to send in documentation of a disability, contact Justus St. Sauver, our Disability Services Coordinator. His office is located in the Testing Center (Room 211), and his office hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 4 PM. You can also contact him at:
