This position will gain real-world work experience in their academic field. During the months, June – August, interns will engage in challenging projects, given opportunities to stretch their skills and enrich their knowledge base to achieve a greater understanding of Human Resources.

Learning objectives for this position are recruiting knowledge (offers, interviews, onboarding), experience partnering with managers on a variety of topics, training experience, planning and assisting with employee events, developing job descriptions, and offboarding.

• Support the HR team in the execution of recruitment and selection processes, including drafting job descriptions in
partnership with department managers, and scheduling interviews.
• Assist with conducting interviews.
• Assist in coordinating onboarding and orientation activities for new hires, facilitating an efficient and positive
experience for employees during their integration into the organization.
• Provide administrative support in various HR functions, such as preparing HR offer letters.
• Assist with employee engagement initiatives and events, helping to foster a positive and inclusive company culture.
• Assist with manager training and development, preparing and delivering one manager training topic centered around
recruiting and selection.
• Works in an honest and ethical manner, maintaining confidentiality on all business-related and team member-related
matters.
• Maintains a team environment within the department and with all other plantdepartments.
• Be depended on to report to work at the scheduled time and is seldom absent fromwork.
• Can be depended upon to complete work in a timely, accurate, and thorough manner and is conscientious about
assignments.
• Focus on continuous improvement in all aspects of thejob.
• Actively promote GLE’s vision, mission, and values with employees, outside vendors, and customers
• Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/COMPETENCIES

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• High School diploma or GED required
• Must be a current student in an accredited university pursuing a 2- or 4-year degree, with preference for HR related
courses, majors, or minors.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Fluent in all Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
• Strong communication skills both over the phone and in person
• Ability to problem-solve and adapt quickly
• Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
• Highly motivated and collaborative with the ability to forge relationships as necessary to accomplish assigned tasks
• To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the competencies required to perform the essential
functions of this position along with effective oral and written communications skills, and excellent interpersonal skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
• This position operates mainly in an office environment. In the office, the employee will work on a personal computer. In
the plant environment, employee will be required to adhere to all safety requirements and may be exposed to noise, heat
and other elements both inside and outside.
• Occasionally lifting weights of forty (40) pounds orless
• Working on a PC while sitting for approximately 90% of thetime
