Audio Video Seasonal Game Day Technician – Mississippi State (2023-5909)

This is an ongoing temporary position for a Game Day Technician. Hours worked each week will be dependent upon the number of events taking place. This position will support Daktronics equipment for Mississippi State University events such as football games at Davis Wade Stadium, baseball games at Dudy Noble Field at Polk-DeMent Stadium and basketball games at Humphrey Coliseum. The work schedule for this position is determined by the event schedule and will include weeknight and weekend shifts.
As a game day technician, you will bring the magic of the game to the video board. If you love going to sporting events, hate being trapped in an office, and are looking for work experience related to your major this is the job for you!
Our game day technicians are part of a collaborative team responsible for the technical aspect of our events.
Provide on-site services including maintenance for all Daktronics systems and control equipment:
Learn Daktronics products, control/scoring systems, and processes and accurately diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair these systems in a timely and quality-conscious manner.
Complete hardware repairs using hand tools, multi-meter, and other troubleshooting equipment.
Able to work in team environment.
Accurately meter AC & DC power and diagnose issues.
Complete quality work in a timely manner and be able to work under pressure and time constraints.
Perform ‘pre-event’ equipment checks and repairs the day events will occur.
Arrive on time for all events that you are scheduled.
Help when and where needed and make suggestions for improvement.
Perform other duties as needed or assigned.
Qualifications:
Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Associate degree and/or a background in one of the following areas is preferred:
Electronics Engineering Technology, Electronic Technology, Information Technology, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.
A degree in another technical field.
Must be available to work the game day schedules at the University which could include days, evenings, and weekends. Hours worked each week will be dependent upon the number of events taking place at the venue.
Able to work at heights, work from a ladder and ability to carry ladder/tools/parts from storage room to work site.
Ability to lift, carry and move up to 45 pounds.
Possess strong verbal and written communication skills, good organizational skills, good troubleshooting/problem solving skills, and self-motivation.
Ability to communicate and work effectively as a member of a team.
Effectively exercise independent judgment.
Must be willing and able to take on responsibility and learn new skills.
Fluent in English; written and verbal.
Individual must have reliable transportation to travel to assigned venue.
