Commercial Manufacturing builds displays for customers including financial institutions, hotels and motels, gaming, auto dealers, convenience stores, shopping centers, outdoor advertisers (billboard), and other retail establishments.  Commercial Galaxy Manufacturing, located in Redwood Falls, MN, will support the Commercial market through the timely and quality production of Galaxy Displays. 

This position will primarily support Final Assembly and work the standard shift Monday-Thursday 6:00am-4:30pm based on posting. Overtime on Fridays and extended hours when required or volunteers needed.

In everything we do, be safety conscious when performing testing or troubleshooting operations. 
Regularly and reliably work the scheduled hours. Support additional hours as necessary to meet the demand of the work.  
Consistently meet Daktronics 7 dimensions standards. 
Demonstrate customer service skills and meeting Daktronics team player expectations daily.   
Attend and participate in daily production tier meetings.  
Assist with problem solving efforts to identify and resolve defects. 
Inspect, test, and troubleshoot; equipment, displays, assemblies, sub-assemblies, and modules.  
Follow guidance from technicians and Test Engineers for repairing and following repair process standards.  
Perform testing on various bench test fixtures as well as on automated equipment.  This includes configuring enclosures by loading firmware and software. 
Support and troubleshoot test issues including Hipot, Translation tables, ATF, DMP’s, etc. 
Support the factory with IT needs both hardware, software, and networking. This may include servicing PCs, keyboards, monitors, routers, ethernet or fiber network drops, wifi networks, and communication protocols. 
Perform repairs in accordance with Daktronics and IPC standards, escalate to appropriate technician or engineer per the escalation process. 
Perform these tasks using the applicable drawings, schematics, and parts lists, in addition to test procedures written for the product under test. This includes configuring enclosures and loading firmware and software. 
Escalated support for repair technicians and other manufacturing personnel on issues related to product performance (hardware, firmware, and visual), or escalate to the appropriate engineer following escalation process.  
Demonstrated ability to use hand tools. 
Utilize hand tools to fix brackets, nut-serts, mod strips, rivets, mod sheets, and paint issues. 
Support manufacturing by performing troubleshooting and repair of enclosures, shells, and frames. 
Take direction from production leadership (leads and/or supervisor). 
Use a methodical problem-solving approach to resolve repeating issues.   
Utilize Glovia, windchill, Aegis and the escalation app software environments consistently. 
Ensure that product being delivered to meet quality and performance requirements. 
Be able, ready, and willing to flex into the flow line or other areas if the team needs help.   
Perform other duties as assigned and needed to meet customer and department expectations. 
Qualifications
Applicant must be 18 years of age or older.
Willingness to learn and follow the Technician Assistant Development Plan. 
Strong experience with IT support, networking, computers, and software operating systems. 
Associates degree in Computers, Networking, IT, Electronics, Technology, Robotics, Automation, Manufacturing Engineering, or pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a related field desired.   
Basic knowledge of AC/DC electricity and applications. IEC, NEC, or other experience a plus. 
Demonstrated ability in problem solving and learning technical concepts.   
1 or more years in each of Electronic Assembly, Shell Assembly, and Final Assembly experience desired. 
Knowledge of Surface Mount Technology (SMT) & Through Hole (TH). Circuit board assembly and components valued. 
Solid understanding or ability with PC tools such as Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, and Glovia.  
Good technical writing and verbal communication skills required.   
Fluent in English, both written and verbal.  
Customer service mindset. 
Ability to work with minimum supervision.   
Experienced interacting with a variety of individuals in a positive, professional manner. 
Self-motivated and organized to plan, execute, and document work plus work with a high level of independence. 
Ability to travel by air and ground. Valid driver’s license and good driving record. Motor vehicle records will be checked.  
Physical requirements include the ability to: Distinguish and identify wire and paint colors. 
Read fine print with or without the use of corrective lenses. 
Work with odors (solder/paint/solvent/manufacturing odor). 
Lift and carry heavy (up to 50lbs) and/or awkward items. 
Stand or sit for the full shift and have full range of motion (including but not limited to bending and lifting) required to perform the job functions. 
Maintain steady hand-eye coordination. 
Reach in all directions and in potentially awkward positions. 
Wear all proper protective equipment as required in work area in accordance with Daktronics Safety Policy and OSHA standards.  Items may include the following: safety glasses, safety shoes/boots, hearing protection, electrostatic discharge wear, and others as determined necessary by Daktronics Risk and Safety Department.
Ability to meet all workplace safety requirements, which includes following safety protocols related to COVID-19.
