Community U Classes Begin October 12

WATERTOWN, SD – Community U, a series of fun and informative classes, begins its fifth year on October 12 and will feature a variety of topics offered to the public. Community U is a project of Watertown H2O-20, Lake Area Technical College, and the community of Watertown.

Classes will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays through December 7. Each class is an introduction to a skill, hobby, or topic and are presented by local community members at area businesses or Lake Area Technical College. The Fall 2017 Community U roster of classes includes: VIP Zoo Tour, Healing with Ancient Reiki, Pumpkin Pizzazz, 3D Printer Club, Stained Glass, Designer Cocktails, Drones 101, Chalk Painting, Beginner Mosaics, Museum presentation on Watertown Manufacturing history, Soap Making, Etching, MakerSpace – Holiday theme, Glacial Lakes Distillery Tour, and Quilting Inspiration.

Since Community U began five years ago, more than 1500 people in our area have signed up for classes! Registration takes place through the Lake Area Technical College website and the registration fee for each class is $5. (Additional supplies fees apply for select classes requiring materials).
