Brian Buisker, Watertown, SD
Marketing/Management/Sales, 1999

Why did you choose to attend Lake Area Tech? I chose Lake Area Tech because I was able to get a 2-year degree and get into the work force sooner. It was also close to my hometown of Milbank.

Where are you employed today? First PREMIER Bank

When was the last time you visited campus? Yesterday (Fall 2023)

What was your favorite thing about Lake Area Tech? It was a friendly environment and the staff were awesome. They treated you fairly and were always available to help when needed.

What was the biggest lesson you learned at Lake Area Tech? Attending LATC isn’t much different than high school. It’s not a huge university where you can get lost in the shuffle. Your instructors are available to help you.

What made you want to continue your education? I wanted to have a degree to get my foot in the door somewhere.

What advice would you give a current Lake Area Tech student? Work hard, study hard and get the most out of your education as possible. Also, have fun and enjoy your time with your friends.

What makes you proud to be an Alumni of Lake Area Tech?  It has been fun to see Lake Area receive so many accolades over the past decade. Their campus has tripled in size since I attended. It’s a beautiful facility and such a big part of the community of Watertown.

What advice can you give to Lake Area Tech students that will be entering the workforce? The best advice I could give would be to work hard and have high expectations of yourself. Regardless of what field you’re entering, you’ll need to learn new job skills. If you’re willing to put in the work, your employer will find reasons to keep you such as promotions or pay raises.
