Adam Fischbach (1)

Adam Fischbach, Watertown, SD

Physical Therapist Assistant, Class of 2014

Why did you choose to attend Lake Area Tech? Initially I chose Lake Area because I am from the Watertown area and it was close to home. Upon visiting and then attending, I could see that Lake Area was a great fit. The instructors are incredibly helpful, the class sizes are small, and the curriculum is very industry- facing and hands-on.

Where are you employed today? Lake Area Technical College & Big Stone Therapies

When was the last time you visited campus? Currently on campus

What was your favorite thing about Lake Area Tech? I am a very “hands-on” learner and my classes at Lake Area taught me in that manner. We would use class time and lab time to complete the skills necessary to be a successful practicing professional.

What was the biggest lesson you learned at Lake Area Tech? Make connections and keep those connections. Lake Area is a great place to start networking with your classmates and instructors within your profession.

What made you want to continue your education? I went to a traditional four-year university and was not able to find employment following graduation. Seeing Lake Area’s job placement and retention rates really helped me make my decision to return to school.

What advice would you give a current Lake Area Tech student? Make connections with your instructors and your classmates. This can be a great start to your professional network as you work through your career.

What makes you proud to be an Alumni of Lake Area Tech?  Seeing all of the advancement and progress both on campus and within the school. Seeing the physical expansions (diesel building, Prairie Lakes Healthcare Center of Learning, and the Archway) are all signs of a healthy and prospering school. Also, boasting that we are an Aspen award winning school is great.

What advice can you give to Lake Area Tech students that will be entering the workforce? Stay in touch with your school! This can be a great asset to you in the future.
