Lake Area Tech welcomed Melissa in January 2023 as the Surgical Technology Department Supervisor. She earned an Associate Degree in Allied Health with special studies in Surgical Technology from Presentation College. Melissa’s experience includes more than 19 years as a surgical tech between Prairie Lakes Hospital and Mallard Pointe Surgical Center. She was also the owner/operator of Dakota Gold Gymnastics and Dance for more than nine years where she taught and coached kids from three to 18 years old. She also coached the Watertown Arrow High School team. Melissa is originally from Britton, SD, and has lived in Watertown since 1996. She has three amazing boys. She loves watching two of them play hockey and one who plays baseball. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and being outdoors.
