The Lake Area Tech family welcomed Kristen in August 2021 as a General Education instructor.
After graduating from Watertown High School, Kristen earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Minnesota and Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois. Kristen went on to receive her MBA from the University of St. Thomas while working in Research and Development for a Fortune 500 medical device company in Minneapolis. After accepting an international management assignment, Kristen and her family had the unique opportunity to live and work in Costa Rica for six months, where they enjoyed all the beaches, rain forests, and experiencing the day-to-day culture of Central America. During her time in Minneapolis, Kristen served on the Minnesota Team of the Boston Scientific Foundation, granting funds focused on STEM education and improving healthcare for underserved children. She also managed grant funds and led employee volunteer coordination for FIRST Lego and Robotics programs.
In 2016, Kristen and her family moved back to Watertown where she supported the regional expansion of her family’s business, Midwest Veterinary Service, from three to five locations around the state. Kristen continues to serve as the HR & Marketing Manager for the company.
Kristen serves on the boards of the Watertown Area Community Foundation, Prairie Lakes Healthcare System, Friends of the Goss Opera House, the Watertown Area Chamber of Commerce Ag Committee, and EXCITE Watertown. In her free time, Kristen enjoys golfing with her husband and two young children, swimming, and traveling near and far.
