JANUARY 31, 2012   WATERTOWN, SD…..  Lake Area Technical College has again achieved a record spring semester enrollment with 1421 students enrolled this term.  This is a 25.4% increase in students over the past three years for spring semester.

Lake Area Technical College President Shephard comments, “Due to the record enrollment fall semester, we have several areas that typically accept new students in the spring that just couldn’t allow anymore at this time. Lake Area Technical College’s enrollment continues to be very strong, which is excellent news for the State’s employers.”

With the growth the College has been experiencing, school officials are stating that Lake Area Technical College will reach 1700 students for the 2011-12 school year once the summer session begins.

Shephard continues, “Lake Area Technical College has been so fortunate to see the growth of the College and the continued success of its graduates. Being ranked as one of the top 5 two-year colleges in the nation has been such an honor and has kept us mindful of how we got there to begin with. Our students, staff and business partners have all been instrumental in making us who we are today.”
