Larry Gross; Mandan, North Dakota
Electronics, 1981

Why did you choose to attend Lake Area Tech? I was interested in repairing electronic equipment including radios, TV’s, etc.

Where are you employed today? NDIT State of North Dakota

When was the last time you visited campus? July 2023

What was your favorite thing about Lake Area Tech? The camaraderie amongst the students. We would all get together in the open area and eat lunch and play cards or do whatever came to mind.

What was the biggest lesson you learned at Lake Area Tech? That yes, my parents were right.

What made you want to continue your education? My parents’ example of choosing something that interests you and working hard to be the best you can be.

What advice would you give a current Lake Area Tech student? It may seem like you are doing nothing with your life but going to school. Life goes fast so stick with it and do your best.

What makes you proud to be an Alumni of Lake Area Tech?  Several things. One, I had the good fortune to choose this school and to graduate. Two, going back recently and seeing how the school has changed and transitioned into what it is today.

What advice can you give to Lake Area Tech students that will be entering the workforce? Remember family comes first. Do not take having a job for granted, do your job and work hard. Along with that you have to be treated respectfully where ever you are employed. I have quit a job, that I really enjoyed, and found other work because the head of the IT department would not stand behind me when I was doing my job and doing it as procedure dictated.
