Are you interested in the heavy equipment industry and eager to learn the business side of sales, parts, service, and rentals? Titan Machinery is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Business of Sales Intern to join our team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain a comprehensive understanding of our business operations and build valuable skills in customer relationship management and sales.
Product Knowledge and Inventory Management:
- Research and Analysis: Learn about various equipment brands, their attributes, and descriptions. Analyze inventory management practices to support business operations.
- Field Training: Participate in field demonstrations and training sessions to understand product functionality and customer needs.
- Marketing Initiatives: Assist with marketing initiatives aimed at promoting equipment sales and services.
Sales Process Experience:
- Wholegood, Parts, Service, and Rental Sales: Gain experience in the sales process across these categories, including financing, trade appraisals, and sales packet completion.
- Rental Fleet Management: Become familiar with rental inventory and fleet management, ensuring optimal use and availability.
- Parts Inventory: Understand the company’s parts inventory process to provide assistance to both external and internal customers.
- Service Department Exposure: Observe the service department operations, including scheduling, warranty management, and service sales.
Customer Relationship Building:
- Prospecting: Participate in prospecting activities to identify potential customers and sales opportunities.
- CRM Navigation: Learn to navigate customer relationship management (CRM) software to track interactions and sales progress.
- Ride-Alongs: Participate in ride-alongs with experienced team members to observe customer interactions and sales techniques.
- Customer Experience Lifecycle: Observe and understand the complete lifecycle of the customer experience from initial contact through post-sale support.
Professional Development:
- Meeting Participation: Attend department and area meetings to gain insights into company operations and strategic decision-making.
- Skill Development: Develop independent problem-solving, time management, and communication skills essential for business success.
- Networking: Engage with team members, manufacturing partners, and customers to build a professional network within the industry.
- Business Assessment: Assess business and customer needs, identify potential improvements, and propose innovative solutions.

Required:
- 4 completed semesters towards degree in Agriculture, Business, Sales, Marketing, or related field by start of internship
- Must be able to regularly and reliably attend work on a part-time schedule for a duration of 8-12 weeks (35-40 hours a week) during the summer months
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with a high level of computer literacy
- Strong organization, decision making, and problem solving skills
- Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines efficiently and cost effectively
- Keen attention to detail and a high level of initiative and ability to work independently
- Excellent customer service skills
- A willingness to learn
- Capacity to perform in a fast-paced changing work environment
- Ability to handle and resolve interpersonal conflict
- Potential to respond quickly, accurately, and professionally to demands and requests from customers and employees
