Diesel engines power farm equipment across millions of acres, move goods by truck, rail, and ship, build infrastructure, and provide backup power for critical services. This program prepares you to maintain and repair the equipment behind those operations, building the technical skills needed to keep systems running reliably.
At Lake Area Tech, you’ll train in a hands-on environment using modern equipment and current industry practices. The program is accredited by the Associated Equipment Dealers (AED) Foundation, the only technical college in South Dakota with this distinction, ensuring your training aligns with employer expectations.

Students transferring from another accredited institution may receive credit for completed coursework with a grade of B or higher, subject to review by the Diesel Department Supervisor.
