Capital City Campus Nursing

Lake Area Tech’s partnership with Capital City Campus in Pierre gives students in central South Dakota the opportunity to begin or complete nursing education closer to home. Whether you’re taking a single course or pursuing a full program, this collaboration makes high-quality training more accessible.

Practical Nursing

Students in the Practical Nursing program complete coursework online, with in-person labs held at Capital City Campus and clinical experiences at Avera St. Mary’s. Occasional trips to Watertown are required for simulation labs. The program maintains the same standards, instruction, and outcomes as Lake Area Tech’s main campus, with strong job placement and career opportunities after graduation.

Dual Credit

High school students in the region can also take advantage of dual credit courses, earning college credit while still in high school. All dual credit students follow the same expectations and standards as Lake Area Tech students.
