About Lake Area Technical College
Located in the Glacial Lakes region of northeast South Dakota, Lake Area Technical College is a public institution that was established in 1965. The college sits on a 40-acre campus, serves an 18,000 square mile area, has nearly 30,000 graduates, and is known as a premier educational and workforce development institution. Lake Area Tech offers 31 programs of study, has a current enrollment of 2,600 students, and a team of approximately 250 full and part-time faculty and staff. The college consistently achieves 99% employment placement and approximately 84% of graduates chose to stay in South Dakota. The college also offers robust online and high school dual credit programs as well as several outreach programs that offer for-credit and not-for-credit training.
Presidential Job Description
The President of Lake Area Technical College is responsible for planning, developing, and supervising all aspects of the operation of the college. The President provides leadership for its day-to-day administration, management, and operations consistent with policies established by the Board and General Statutes of the State of South Dakota.
