Other Financial Aid Sources

There are additional funding options beyond traditional financial aid. If any of the programs below apply to you, they can make a meaningful difference in how you pay for school.

National Guard Benefits

If you’re a member of the National Guard, you may qualify for state or federal tuition assistance, along with monthly stipends through Chapter 1606.

Start by connecting with your commanding officer. Then follow up with our Financial Aid Office so we can help you complete the required paperwork and certify your eligibility with the VA.

Visit the Veterans Benefits page to learn more about what benefits are available to you at LATC.

Tribal Higher Education Funding

Some tribes offer education funding for eligible students.

Reach out to your tribal education office to learn what’s available and how to apply. Deadlines can come up quickly, so it’s worth starting early.

Vocational Rehabilitation

Students with qualifying mental or physical impairments may be eligible for support through Vocational Rehabilitation.

Visit the state website to explore your options and learn what services are available in your area.

Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA)

Through the South Dakota Department of Labor and Regulation, some students may qualify for grant funding based on financial need and program enrollment.

Connect with your local Department of Labor office to see if you’re eligible and how to apply.
