Educare Center
The Lake Area Tech Educare Center provides a safe, nurturing and engaging environment where young children can learn, grow and thrive. Serving Lake Area Tech students, employees and families throughout the Watertown community, Educare offers quality early childhood education and child care designed to support every stage of development.
We welcome children from Lake Area Tech students, staff, and the broader Watertown community, with priority given to those connected to the college. It’s a program built around real needs, for families balancing school, work, and everything in between.
Philosophy
Every child is different, and that’s where we start.
Our approach focuses on age-appropriate learning that supports social, emotional, intellectual, and physical development. Through structured play and guided activities, children are encouraged to explore, try new things, and build confidence along the way.
Locations and Facilities
Educare is located just six blocks south of campus in the former Garfield Elementary School – 1018 2nd Ave SE.
The space includes classrooms, a gymnasium, cafeteria, and a secure outdoor play area, all designed to support both learning and play at different developmental stages.
Students from Lake Area Tech’s Child Development program are also part of the experience, working directly with children and gaining hands-on training in a real environment.
Programs and Services
- Hours of Operation: Monday–Friday: 6:30 AM – 5:45 PM
- Before and After School Care: Care is available for kindergarten students, including direct pickup and drop-off within Watertown.
