Ready-Mix Concrete Plant Manager

A Ready-Mix Concrete Plant Manager oversees the daily operations of a ready-mix concrete batching plant. This includes managing production schedules, maintaining equipment, supervising staff, ensuring safety, coordinating deliveries, and assisting with customer billing.

 

·       Plant operations and production

·       Manage the batching and mixing of concrete according to specified mix designs and quality standard

·       Monitor raw material inventories (cement, aggregates, admixtures, water) and reorder as needed

·       Oversee plant start-up and shutdown procedures

·       Supervise and schedule plant employees including batch operators, loader operators, and yard personnel

·       Hire, train, and evaluate staff performance

·       Ensure adherence to safety protocols and promote a positive work environment

·       Schedule and oversee maintenance and repair of plant equipment (batching systems, conveyors, silos, etc.)

·       Maintain a preventive maintenance program to minimize downtime

·       Coordinate with mechanics or service contractors as needed

·       Customer service and dispatch coordination: Work closely with dispatch to coordinate timely delivery of concrete to job sites

·       Resolve customer concerns or complaints related to quality, delivery, or scheduling

·       Ensure proper documentation and communication of mix orders and delivery tickets

·       Safety and environmental compliance: Ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory agencies

·       Maintain safety records and conduct regular safety meetings and inspections

·       Quality control: Collaborate with quality control personnel to ensure concrete meets specifications

·       Monitor and adjust mix designs based on material properties, weather, and customer needs

·       Conduct or oversee slump tests, air content, and temperature checks

·       Administrative and reporting: Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports (production, maintenance, staffing, etc.)

·       Monitor budgets and cost control for plant operations

·       Customer billing assistance: Assist the accounting or administrative team with monthly billing

·       Review delivery tickets and verify quantities for accuracy

·       Communicate with customers regarding billing inquiries or discrepancies
