A CDL Truck Driver is responsible for safely transporting goods, materials, or equipment using commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers, dump trucks, flatbeds, or tankers. This role involves planning routes, ensuring cargo is secure, maintaining logs, and complying with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company policies.

·       Transportation and delivery: Operate commercial vehicles to transport cargo locally

·       Ensure timely pickup and delivery of goods according to schedule

·       Vehicle inspection and maintenance: Perform pre-trip, in-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections

·       Monitor and maintain vehicle systems (tires, brakes, fluids, lights)

·       Report mechanical issues and assist with basic troubleshooting

·       Safety and compliance: Follow all DOT (Department of Transportation) and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations

·       Adhere to weight limits, HOS (Hours of Service) regulations, and safety protocols

·       Use proper securing methods (chains, straps, tarps) for different load types

·       Route planning and navigation: Plan routes using GPS and maps, factoring in road restrictions and delivery deadlines (adjust for traffic, weather, and detours)

·       Communicate delays or issues to supervisor or customer
