About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Cybersecurity Intern to join our IT team. This role is ideal for a college junior or senior pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field. You’ll play a key role in strengthening our vendor risk management program and supporting enterprise security initiatives, gaining valuable real-world experience in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
Vendor Management
Contact vendors to request and collect cybersecurity documentation (e.g., SOC reports, information security program summaries, insurance certificates).
Organize and maintain vendor security documentation in a structured system.
Threat Remediation
Assist the IT security team in identifying, analyzing, and addressing potential threats and vulnerabilities.
Support incident response activities as needed.
Security Awareness & Education
Create and distribute periodic security news updates to keep employees informed about emerging threats and best practices.
Assist in developing security awareness campaigns using the KnowBe4 platform.
Compliance & Documentation
Help ensure vendor compliance with internal security standards and regulatory requirements.
Maintain accurate records of vendor assessments and remediation actions.
Qualifications
Currently enrolled as a junior or senior in Cybersecurity, IT, or a related program.
Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and vendor risk management concepts.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with cybersecurity tools is a plus.
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of SOC reports and vendor risk management.
Familiarity with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
Experience with security awareness tools/platforms (e.g., KnowBe4).
