As a Certified Nursing Assistant and under the supervision of the nursing staff, you will provide compassionate personal and clinical care to patients at Avera St. Mary’s Hospital. In collaboration with the hospital staff, the CNA plays a vital role in the recovery process for the critically ill and medically complex patients. Hours of Operations 8 hour shifts (schedules vary; must be able to work weekends)

Monday through Sunday6 AM to 2:30 PM
2 PM to 10:30 PM
10 PM to 6:30 AM
Position Overview

Assist patients with daily activities (grooming, bathing, feeding)
Assist the Nursing staff with duties including administering patient vitals
Assist nursing staff in creating, maintaining, and providing a safe environment
Immediately report all changes in the condition of the patient/client to the appropriate supervisor and other staff members
Follow all required policies to avoid the transmission of illness by correctly wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including mas
and gloves
Alert nursing staff immediately to any signs of patient distress or equipment malfunction
Adhere to confidentiality and patients’ rights policy as outlined in the healthcare facility’s HIPAA policies and procedures
Work independently and as part of the team
Attend required healthcare facility training and orientation programs
Perform other duties as assigned

Position Requirements

At least 18 years of age
High school diploma or GED required
CNA certification in good standing OR we will train the right candidate to become a CNA!
BLS certification
Must meet healthcare facility’s pre-assignment and medical requirements
Ability to effectively build relationships with patients, guests, and team members
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
Ability to work in a stationary position for hours at a time in an outdoor environment
