The Lyman County Sheriff’s Office located in Kennebec, South Dakota is currently seeking a Full-Time Deputy Sheriff.

The Lyman County Sheriff’s Office is a smaller law enforcement agency located in the center of South Dakota on Interstate 90. The Sheriff’s Office consists of a Sheriff, three Deputy Sheriff’s and a secretary/dispatcher. The Sheriff’s Office strives to provide the best possible service to the residents and visitors of Lyman County.

Duties include but are not limited to:

Proactive enforcement of State and Federal laws.
Protection of life and property
Investigation of criminal activity
Report preparation/writing
Execution of all court orders, warrant and civil process.
Courthouse security
Patrol functions
Respond to emergency situations
Applicants must:

Be of good moral character, honest and trustworthy
Complete and be able to pass a background check.
Be able to work independently, with little supervision.
Possess good communication skills.
