Job Summary:
This position is responsible for leading the painting department and conducting painting work daily such as caulking, painting and correctly placing the correct trim and components of a shed to the proper specifications. This position will report to the Production Supervisor.
Job Essentials:
Has the ability to lead a small team with confidence
Must have previous professional painting experience
Able to follow oral and written instructions utilizing the English language or production assembly diagrams (these would be your shed production photos) well enough to perform the essential duties of the job
Possess the ability to distinguish color
Possess math skills for adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing
Able to utilize the appropriate equipment to accomplish the tasks of this position
Must possess the dexterity to use the required tools to accomplish the tasks of this position
Must be able to hear with or without amplification devices
Able to lift 100 pounds
Has an eye for detail
Knowledge of latex water based paint preferred
Job Duties/Competencies:
Must know the process of how a paint room works as well as how to manage and delegate tasks to a team
Demonstrate self-motivated attitude
Must have experience working with paint sprayer
Be an effective and flexible team leader
Treat employees and others courteously with respect and dignity
Accurately determine the correct color for the shed that is being painted according to the specifications
Effectively utilize the painting system to ensure a shed is properly painted in a timely manner
Move the completed shed to the next station in the production line in a safe and timely manner
Follow all safety procedures while painting a shed and utilize the proper personal protection equipment
Keep work area clean and organized
Perform required preventative maintenance on painting equipment and ventilation system in a timely manner
Will receive and process painting supply orders from employees
Demonstrate a willingness to learn new skills and techniques
Conduct final details: caulking nail holes and splices, cutting and installing trim, etc.
Perform related work as assigned
Knowledge of approved methods, materials, tools and equipment utilized in painting and applying trim to a shed
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED
Previous experience in professional painting with paint sprayer
Working Conditions
For the most part the working environment is moderately loud, dusty and dirty, temperature ranges from cold to hot as found in typical production facilities. May be subject to an outdoor work environment with adverse conditions ranging from freezing cold and snow to severe heat and humidity.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, frequently walk and climb steps, use hands and fingers, reach, sit, climb, stoop, kneel, lift, crouch, work on ladder, talk, hear and see.
Must be able to lift 100 pounds.
