Open Position: Medical Lab Technician (MLT), Full-Time (80 hours/pay period); Varying shifts including weekends, call, and holiday rotations.
We offer 100% paid single Health, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance and we participate in the South Dakota Retirement Program (6% match). Once hired, the MLT can apply for the South Dakota Recruitment Assistance Program and receive $10,000 after a 3 year commitment with Redfield Community Memorial Hospital.
Job Summary:
Proper specimen collection, handling and corresponding orders for diagnostic testing.
-Performance and appropriate documentation of diagnostic testing.
-Accurate and timely reporting of diagnostic testing.
-Performance and interpretation of Quality Control/Calibration and participation in all quality assessment activities.
-Maintaining clinical competency through on-going education and professional development.
-Providing education and training to students, other professional and non-professional staff.
-Performance of testing in accordance with regulatory and compliance guidelines.
-Assigned special projects/functions as determined by Laboratory Management.
Essential Job Functions:
Laboratory generalist, ability to perform phlebotomy, hematology, chemistry, blood bank, coagulation, microbiology, urinalysis, special chemistry and COVID-19 collections/testing.
Education:
Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Science
Licenses/Certificates:
Certification required: MLT, CLT, or equivalent.
Experience: Minimum 6 months Clinical internship/education as part of Associate Degree Program
