Carpenter Hiring Expectations:
Experience & Skills
· Minimum 2–3 years of carpentry experience (residential/custom home)
· Skilled in rough carpentry (framing, structural work)
· Skilled in finish carpentry (trim, cabinetry, doors, stairs, windows)
· Skilled in exterior finishes (siding, decks)
· Able to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings
· Proficient with hand and power tools
Professionalism
· Dependable and punctual
· Maintain proper/clean attire and equipment
· Communicate effectively
Work Ethic & Attitude
· Works well with crews and other trades
· Self-Starter
· Maintains high attention to detail and craftsmanship
Physical Expectations
· Can lift 50+ lbs regularly
· Capable of climbing, kneeling, and working on ladders
· Works effectively in varying weather conditions
· Adheres to jobsite safety protocols (OSHA/PPE)
Technical Knowledge
· Understands structural and finish carpentry codes
· Familiar with lumber grades, fasteners, and adhesives
· Keeps work aligned with local building codes
Tools & Transportation
· Owns basic hand tools (Ex. Tool belt, tape measure, etc.)
· Has reliable transportation
· Valid driver’s license
· Clean Driving Record Preferred
Licensing & Documentation
· Authorized to work in the U.S.
· Willing to provide references
