Summary: Under supervision of the Financial Manager, this position is responsible for using multi-tasking abilities to compute, classify, record, and verify numerical data for use in maintaining accounting records as assigned. Other duties may be assigned, including cross-training and/or working in other departments.
Processes accounting transactions such as classifying transactions, substantiating source documents, balancing accounts and preparing reports. Compiles and sorts documents, such as invoices and checks, substantiating business transactions. Verifies and posts details of business transactions, such as funds received and disbursed, and totals accounts to ledgers or computer spreadsheets and databases.
Audits invoices against purchase orders, researches discrepancies, and processes invoices for payment. Investigates problems that vendors or purchasing agents have with obtaining payment for bills. Computes and records charges, refunds, freight charges, rentals, and similar items. Prepares vouchers, invoices, checks, reports, and other records and reviews for accuracy. Codes data for input to financial data processing system according to company procedures. Posts daily deposits. Reviews, balances and interprets computer reports, and makes corrections. Maintains accurate record of assets and performs monthly depreciation and tie-outs. Monitors accounts payable to ensure that payments are up to date.
Assists employees, vendors, clients, or customers by answering questions related to accounts, procedures, and services.
Continually provides exceptional internal and external customer service through pleasant, enthusiastic demeanor in person, over the phone or by email/fax. Responds to all requests for assistance in a prompt, timely manner. Backup to answering incoming telephone calls, providing complete service according to knowledge/skills or forwards calls to appropriate personnel as needed.
