Q&A for Prospective Students
What should I know about Lake Area Tech?
We have a LOT to offer! Our campus - located in Watertown, SD - is growing fast to accommodate the latest technology, awesome training facilities and record-breaking student numbers. With well-established programs and a sparkling reputation for excellence, LATI grads are in demand all over South Dakota and beyond. In fact, 98% of LATI grads are employed or are continuing their education.
I'm curious. What programs does LATI offer?
You can click here for a full list of LATI programs. You can also call (605-882-5284) and ask to speak to an admission representative - or stop by and visit us in person. The admission offices are open Monday-Friday, 7:30-5:00.
I want to visit LATI, is that possible?
Yes! We encourage anyone who is interested in a program at LATI to schedule a tour. We can visit with you about your interests or concerns, and take you to see a class or lab in action, meet the instructors, and find out if this is the right place for you!
How do I apply?
It's as easy as the click of a button to apply online. For complete instructions, click on the “Admissions” link to your left.
When should I apply?
LATI semesters start in August and January. Most programs have limited space - so we recommend you apply as soon as you can!
I'm working full-time/live a distance from Watertown - what are my options?
Lake Area Tech recognizes that many of today's students need greater flexibility with their education. While most of our traditional programs require a full-load of courses on the LATI campus, we also now offer 12 unique "E-Degrees". An E-Degree allows you to take many required courses online, from the convenience of your home. You will also be required to travel to the LATI campus for crucial hands-on experience and/or clinical experience. How frequently you have to be on campus varies by program. Please contact us for more information.
