A Close Up Of Federal Financial Aid Application In 16x9 Aspect Ratio

WATERTOWN, S.D. – Lake Area Technical College will host a free Financial Aid Saturday on Feb. 7, 2026, giving students and families the opportunity to get hands-on help with the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and FSA ID creation.

The event is open to the public and will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Room 1105 at Lake Area Tech. Attendees will receive personal assistance completing the FAFSA, answers to financial aid questions, and guidance on logging into the federal student aid website.

Both students and at least one parent will need to create an FSA username and password to electronically sign the FAFSA. These accounts can be created in advance at studentaid.gov. In addition, students should bring identification and their Social Security number to the event.

“Completing the FAFSA can be confusing, but our Financial Aid Saturday provides one-on-one support to make the process easier and ensure students maximize their financial aid opportunities,” said Bryce LeBlanc, Financial Aid Director at Lake Area Technical College.

Participants are encouraged to register in advance to secure a spot and make the most of the assistance available. To register, visit: https://lakeareatech.wufoo.com/forms/financial-aid-saturday/
