eSports Competition – Teams Making Statement Wins

The future of competitive gaming at LATC has never looked brighter.
Our Esports Lab renovation is nearly complete, and we are excited to announce that 20 high-performance PCs will soon be fully available for both our LATC Esports Team and the entire LATC student body. This upgraded space is designed to elevate competition, practice, and campus gaming to the next level.
A special thank you goes out to Lenovo for helping equip our team with brand-new PCs and monitors. Their support has played a major role in bringing this upgraded lab to life and ensuring our players have the tools they need to compete at a high level.
Staff vs. Students: Apex Legends Deathmatch Tournament
To celebrate the new lab and make this season even more exciting, we’re introducing a high-energy showdown as part of our Grad Fest Celebration on May 14th.
LATC Esports team members will be recruiting staff to join them in an Apex Legends Deathmatch Tournament featuring Apex Legends. Students and staff will team up and battle it out inside our newly renovated Esports Lab, bringing competitive energy and campus spirit together for one unforgettable event.
Expect intense matches, friendly rivalries, and plenty of moments you won’t want to miss.
Competition Update: Teams Making Statement Wins
Valorant Teams Undefeated in CCL
Our Valorant teams are competing in three different leagues this season and have truly taken their competition to the next level.
In the CCL league, LATC remains undefeated — and they are making program history. For the first time ever, our team defeated Dakota State University, followed by impressive wins over the University of Nebraska and UND. These victories are a strong statement that LATC Esports is ready to compete with some of the top collegiate programs in the region.
The team continues to build momentum and prove why they belong among the best.
Street Fighter Standout: Josiah
In Street Fighter competition, Josiah entered last week undefeated and continues to establish himself as one of the top contenders this season.
His performance earned him Player of the Week honors from Coach LeBlanc and Coach Olson. The growth from his first year in the program to now has been remarkable. Josiah has developed into a standout competitor and is positioning himself as a serious threat to take home a National Title this year.
Call of Duty: Warzone Eyes Repeat Success
Our Call of Duty: Warzone team is looking to repeat last season’s achievements and has started strong. They secured a big win over Murray State College last week and are showing early signs that they are ready for another deep postseason run.
The focus and experience on this roster make them a team to watch.
Apex Legends: Split 2 Push for LAN
This year marks the debut season for our Apex Legends team. They will compete on March 7th in Split 2, which serves as their opportunity to qualify for the LAN Tournament at the end of the season.
Currently sitting 26th out of 40 teams, the squad is competing in the National Esports Collegiate Conference (NECC), a new league for the LATC Esports Program. The experience gained this season is laying the foundation for future success, and the team continues to improve each week.
Expanding Our Reach: Fenworks College League
In addition to the NECC, we are excited to announce that LATC Esports has joined the Fenworks College League.
This pilot league provides our students the opportunity to compete against more local colleges and participate in a LAN event at the end of the year. It is a fantastic platform to showcase our program while building strong partnerships with other regional esports programs. Fenworks also oversees high school esports leagues across South Dakota, North Dakota, and Minnesota, creating a valuable connection between high school and collegiate competition.
With a nearly completed Esports Lab, expanding league participation, historic wins, and exciting events ahead, this season is shaping up to be one of the most successful in LATC Esports history.
The momentum is real — and we’re just getting started. Let’s go LATC Esports!
