Downtown Watertown Will ‘Rock the Block’ on September 11

WATERTOWN – Students returning to Lake Area Technical College this fall will be welcomed with a free, high-energy street dance and concert on Thursday, Sept 11, in downtown Watertown.

Presented by First PREMIER Bank and PREMIER Bankcard, Rock the Block will feature the band Pop Rocks, known for its elaborate costume changes and performances that blend hits from every era. The concert will run from 7 to 10 p.m. on Maple Street, next to the historic Goss Opera House.

Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and enjoy an evening of live music, food and fun. Food and beverages will be available for purchase throughout the night.

“Fall is an exciting time of year in Watertown,” said Lake Area Technical College President Tiffany Sanderson. “There’s an incredible energy as students return to campus, and the support they receive from our community is tremendous. Events like Rock the Block show the special relationship between Lake Area Tech and the Watertown community.”

First PREMIER Bank VP, Market Leader Mark Dunn said the bank is proud to help launch the inaugural event. “Rock the Block is about more than great music—it’s about bringing people together. We’re thrilled to welcome Lake Area Tech students back to Watertown and to be part of a celebration we hope becomes a tradition for years to come.”

In case of inclement weather, the concert will move indoors to the Goss Opera House.

Rock the Block is also sponsored by the Goss Opera House and Lake Area Technical College. The event is free and open to the public. Organizers hope to see a large crowd from across the region come together to celebrate, connect and enjoy one of the final outdoor concerts of the season.
