Advanced Manufacturing & Safety Training

Lake Area Tech’s Corporate Ed division provides local and regional manufacturers training for both new and current employees. For new employees, we can coordinate short-term basic skill set training and for current employees, we can coordinate advanced manufacturing and safety training. Both avenues assist in increasing business production capabilities by upskilling your employees.

We have worked with manufacturers in areas including electronics, welding, robotics, and torque certification. Some of our most popular offerings include:

Forklift Certification

The Forklift Certification includes both classroom and hands-on training. The training follows OSHA regulations and is held on the Lake Area Tech campus and will utilize LATC equipment. Participants will be required to operate equipment in their work environment before receiving certification.

Grain Bin Safety

The Lake Area Tech mobile Grain Bin Safety Trainer is a modified grain bin and auger that is used to train local fire/rescue departments and elevator employees on grain bin safety. To be visually effective, the grain bin was cut in half from top to bottom and was fit with Plexiglass. This allows trainees to see exactly what happens inside a grain-filled bin and learn which accident-prevention methods can be employed to prevent grain bin tragedies. Topics covered will include grain bin fires due to grain dust, suffocation and entrapment, fall prevention, and mechanical equipment hazards. The mobile trainer can be easily transported to your business site or the training can be held at Lake Area Tech.
