Meet President Tiffany Sanderson

Tiffany Sanderson became Lake Area Technical College’s sixth president on January 1, 2023.

Prior to joining Lake Area Tech, President Sanderson served as South Dakota’s Secretary of Education and as a Senior Policy Advisor to Governor Kristi Noem. Her career has centered on education and workforce development across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors. She previously led the state’s technical college system as Director of Career and Technical Education (CTE), where she helped advance initiatives such as the Build Dakota Scholarship, the state’s reduced tuition dual credit program, and funding for technical colleges and regional CTE facilities.

Sanderson grew up on a ranch and graduated from Lemmon High School in 1998. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Education from South Dakota State University and a Master’s degree in Administration: Human Resource Management from the University of South Dakota. She is relocating from Pierre with her husband, Nathan, and their son, Carter.
