After graduating from Highmore High School in 1981, Kevin Durfee enrolled in the Lake Area Tech Aviation Maintenance program. In 1983, Kevin completed the program and received his Federal Aviation Administration Airframe and Powerplant License.
Kevin’s career took off immediately with companies such as American Central Airlines of Omaha, NE, Atlantic Southeast Airlines of Macon, GA, Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation and currently, Flight Safety International both of Savannah, GA. Kevin’s positions with these companies have included maintenance technician, inspector and maintenance instructor. Some of his duties have included troubleshooting, repair and inspection of aircraft and instruction of aircraft maintenance.
Kevin’s current duties as Aircraft Maintenance Instructor for Flight Safety International of Savannah, GA include instruction on turbine engine propulsion systems, auxiliary power systems, hydraulic systems, landing gear systems, flight control systems and ground handling and servicing.
Kevin’s experience and training at Lake Area Tech has led him to many opportunities in a career he loves. He comments, “The training I received at Lake Area Tech has given me the tools to become successful in the career I chose. Thanks to Lake Area Tech, my life has been one exciting adventure after another.”
Kevin resides in Statesboro, GA with his wife and three children.
