Application Process

All steps of the application process must be completed by the application deadline to be considered for the program.

Applications for the full-time program that begins August 2008 will be accepted after September 1, 2007. The application deadline is Friday, March 7, 2008.

1.) Submit completed application and $20 fee, or apply  using the Online Application.

2.) Complete Computerized Nursing Entrance Test (CNET).

This exam is offered at Lake Area Tech Monday through Friday at 8:30 AM, 11:00 AM and 1:30 PM. (A photo ID must be presented to take exam.) Selected Saturday testing is also available. Contact the Admissions Office for dates. The CNET may be taken twice in a calendar year with a minimum of 30 days between the tests.

The CNET takes about two and one half hours to complete and has seven parts: Essential Math Skills, Reading Rate, Reading Comprehension, Social Decisions, Stressful Situations, Learning Styles, and Test-Taking Skills.

The cost for the CNET exam is $25.00. A study guide is available at the admissions office to help prepare for the CNET for a deposit of $25.00. Contact ext. 290 for further information regarding this process.

3.) Submit official high school and college transcripts
Transcripts must have an official school seal -copies will not be accepted.

4.) Verify completed file with the Admission Assistant at 1-800-657-4344 Ext. 290.

Acceptance to the Online Practical Nursing program will be based on the following criteria:

• CNET score
• Recent GPA
• Completion of pre-requisite courses
