Frequently Asked Questions about the E-Degree
LATI will be offering the MMS program online beginning fall semester, 2008 (classes start August 19).  Students must enroll in the classes when offered. Due to course requirements, it will still be necessary for students to travel to the LATI campus for specific portions of certain classes.
 
All online courses are conducted using Lake Area Technical Institute’s eLearning system.  If you proceed with the online program, you should be able to complete the MMS specific course work in 6 semesters of part-time enrollment. 
What are the cutoff dates for applying for the Marketing Management E-Degree?
There is not a cutoff date for admissions. However, early applications are recommended to guarantee your spot in the program. Financial aid and scholarships do have deadlines, though. Check the Deadlines link for more information.
What is the cost?
(All costs are subject to annual adjustments and the following may not reflect the current fees).
  • $ 78.00 - per credit hour
  • $ 12.00 - state funding fee per credit hour
  • $ 30.00 - department fee per credit hour
  • $ 1.00 - state R&M fee per credit hour
  • $ 4.50 - campus support fee per credit hour
  • $ 30.00 - distance fee per credit hour
Any student enrolled in six or more credits may be eligible to receive financial aid. Contact the LATI financial aid office for more information. A $20 application fee is required when an application is submitted. Upon acceptance, a deposit of $150 is required. Of this amount, $125 will be applied to tuition and fees. Certain classes require specific software which could be an additional cost.

Do I need to attend any on-campus courses, seminars or events?
Yes, due to course requirements, it will still be necessary for students to travel to the LATI campus for specific portions of certain classes.  This will give you the opportunity to ask questions and receive “live” instruction and personal assistance. 
Will my credits transfer to other colleges?
LATI has articulation agreements with many other colleges and universities. Check the Articulation Agreements link for more information.  Most of the articulation agreements specify
a student must graduate from the LATI program in order for the credits to transfer.

Is there Financial Aid available?
Any student enrolled in six or more credits may be eligible to receive financial aid. Contact the LATI financial aid office for more information.
Will I have an advisor?
 Jane Haan, MMS Instructor will be your online advisor and will be able to answer any questions you have while you are applying to and after becoming enrolled in LATI.
Are there any prerequisites for the courses I will be taking?
Although not required, the following courses would be beneficial to this course of study prior to attending LATI; Math, Communications, English, and Computer Concepts.  Your advisor can also answer questions about prerequisites.
When do I start my classes?
Classes begin on the first day of LATI’s fall and spring semesters.  Students must enroll in the classes when offered and adhere to the deadlines and due dates set by the course instructor.
