What are the cutoff dates for applying for the MLT E-Degree?
The cutoff date is whenever 12 online students enroll in a class. Therefore early applications are recommended to guarantee a spot in the program. Financial aid and scholarships do have deadlines. Check the Deadlines link for more information.

Are there any entrance exams I need to take before becoming accepted?

If the applicant is a graduate of a Medical Assisting program, she/he will be accepted without an entrance exam. Other applicants will need to have taken the Computerized Nursing Entrance Test (CNET), or SAT or ACT test.

Are there clinicals I need to attend?
Yes, the last semester of the program is a clinical experience. This training must be done at a clinical site approved by the program and by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Science (NAACLS).
Will my credits transfer to other colleges?
LATI has articulation agreements with many other colleges and universities. Check the Articulation Agreements link for more information.  Most of the articulation agreements specify
a student must graduate from the LATI program in order for the credits to transfer.

Is there Financial Aid available?
Any student enrolled in six or more credits may be eligible to receive financial aid.  Contact the LATI financial aid office for more information.
Will I have an advisor?
Yes, your advisor will be either Alison Albertson or Mona Gleysteen. You will be assigned one of these two MLT instructors when you are accepted.
Are there any prerequisites for the courses I will be taking?
Although not required, the following courses would be beneficial to this course of study prior to attending LATI; Math and Medical Terminology. These two courses are required courses and the earlier these courses are taken, the more helpful the course is to the student.
When do I start my classes?
Classes begin on the first day of LATI’s semester. On-line students have the luxury of working whenever and wherever they choose, but still must adhere to the deadlines and due dates set by the instructor for individual classes.
