Our Program

Students in the Clinical Laboratory Technician/Medical Laboratory Technician program attend classes on the Lake Area Technical Institute campus for three and one-half semesters. The student then progresses to a clinical practicum of six months at one of the clinical affiliates. Upon successful completion of the program, the student is awarded an AAS degree and is eligible to sit for a national certification examination.

Students completing the program are eligible to take a national certifying examination. The Lake Area Tech Medical Laboratory Technology program is accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) 8410 W.
