Application Process
Submit completed application for admission and fee ($20).
Submit official high school and college transcripts.
Submit ACT score. If you have not taken the ACT or do not meet the required score for acceptance, you will be required to take the CNET. This exam is offered at Lake Area Tech every Monday-Friday at 8:30 AM, 11:00 AM and 1:30 PM. (A photo ID must be presented to take the exam.) Selected Saturday testing is also available. Check with the Admissions Office for dates. The CNET may be taken twice in a calendar year with a minimum of 30 days between the tests.
The cost for the CNET exam is $25. A study guide is available at the Admissions Office for a $25 deposit to help prepare for the CNET. Contact 1-800-657-4344 or (605) 882-5284 ext. 290 for further information.
Provide a copy of your current Emergency Medical Technician certificate for verification/transfer (if previously completed).
Accepted students are required to provide a record of up-to-date vaccinations and physical health information prior to starting the first semester. The Admissions Office will send the necessary forms.
Please be advised that students may be restricted from EMT and Paramedic licensure/certification if ever convicted of a felony.
