LATI ONLINE MECHANICAL DRAFTING PROGRAM

Lake Area Technical Institute will be offering a Mechanical Drafting program online beginning fall of 2008. The program is available to all students meeting the admission requirements. Students will be required to travel to the LATI campus at various times to complete some of the lab portions of the class. Students will be able to complete their training in 24 months.

Do you have a mechanical mind? Do you enjoy exploring what makes a machine work? Or better yet, enjoy discovering what can make that machine better? Then mechanical drafting is for you. Manufacturing is the largest industry in the area and there is a shortage of mechanical drafting technicians. The Mechanical Drafting program will train technicians to skillfully transfer rough sketches and basic ideas into accurate, precise, and universally understood drawings. Students will be exposed to computers, related drafting software, and other state-of-the-art equipment. Strong math and communication skills will be a definite asset for students pursuing this program.
