Lake Area
Technical Institute has received approval from Microsoft to
become an ATC (Authorized Testing Center) for MOS (Microsoft
Office Specialist) certification tests. With this designation
the school can test students, staff, and business employees
in use of Microsoft Office products. The certification
process includes testing at "Proficient" or "Expert" levels
in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint software.

The CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) certification
indicates that the student has a foundation in and a working
knowledge of networking. CCNA certified individuals can install,
configure, and operate LAN, WAN, and dial access services
for small networks (100 nodes or fewer). They will use the
following protocols: IP, IGRP, Serial, Frame Relay, IP RIP,
VLANs, RIP, Ethernet, Access Lists. |

As a
Prometric Testing Center, the school can deliver tests to Aviation
Maintenance Technology students for Federal Administration
certification and to Electronics Systems students for the Federal
Communications Commission. In the business division, LATI can administer
tests in the A+ and Network+. A+ and Network+ certification
was developed by the Computing Technology Industry Association
(CompTIA) to certify the competency of entry-level service
technicians in the computer industry. The Prometric Testing
Center is also the method that allows the students to take
the Cisco Certified Network Associate's (CCNA) and Cisco Certified
Network Professional exams.
