Basic Nondestructive Testing

The current economy has encouraged aircraft operators to maximize utilization of their equipment.  This has led to a maturing fleet of aircraft.

To maintain the same high degree of safety, fatigue cracks and corrosion must be located and dealt with in the earliest stages.  Attention has been directed toward nondestructive testing for this purpose more than ever before.

The purpose of this class is to provide technicians with a working knowledge of the nondestructive test methods widely used today in aircraft maintenance.  It contains a good balance of theory and practical information.

Day One (Classroom)

  1. Liquid Penetrant
  2. Magnetic Particle
  3. Eddy Current
  4. Ultrasonic Testing
  5. Radiography

Day Two (Lab Projects)

  1. Liquid Penetrant
  2. Magnetic Particle
  3. Eddy Current
