Aircraft Electrical Systems

Course Length:  Two days/12 hrs

This basic electrical course will provide the student with basic knowledge and hands-on skills required to install and maintain small aircraft electrical systems.  It caters to the needs of aircraft owners and homebuilders.

Objectives

  1. Perform battery inspections and maintenance
  2. Identify acceptable wire types and match sizes to load applications.
  3. Identify, test, and install circuit control and protection devices.
  4. Properly install wire terminals and splices.
  5. Read and interpret wiring schematics.
  6. Multimeter principles of operation and usage.
  7. Electrical control device identification installation and testing.
  8. Learn alternator principles of operation and basic troubleshooting.
  9. Learn principles of Com/Nav equipment mount rack, connectors, and antenna installation
