Lake Area Technical Institute held its 2nd annual All Academy Day event April 20, 2010. We had 20 students participating. We divided the students into 4 five person teams. The teams competed in Router Configuration/Troubleshooting, Cable Making, Virtual Computer, Quiz Bowl, and we added a Basic Router/Network configuration using the NETLAB.

This year we added an event. Using the NETLAB we had a “Basic” Network configuration that involved configuring the interfaces and RIP routing on the routers and configuring IP addresses on the virtual PC’s. |
We had a panel of IT professionals representing business and industry. Each professional introduced themselves and gave a brief background of their education or path into the IT field and short overview of their current position. Students were then given the opportunity to ask questions. A special Thank you goes to the IT professionals that so generously donated their time for this event. Tony Dahle form Daktronics, Don Armstrong from LATI, and Laura Newman from Human Services.

Lake Area networking students administer and judge the events. Without their help this would not be possible.
