The Story
Monte, a native of Pierre, SD, enrolled at Lake Area Tech in 1973 in the Aviation Maintenance program. He graduated in 1975 and went to work in several different aviation industries and eventually settled in Dyersburg, Tennessee. In 1990 Monte created his first Chevy V-8 powered motorcycle in a make-shift shop. Monte was the first to design a V-8 powered motorcycle that had a traditional cruiser style, look and feel. This was the beginning of what is now known as Boss Hoss Cycles, Inc. Boss Hoss Cycles, Inc. has since become an international company, with many different products other than traditional two-wheeled motorcycles!
Monte attributes his success to Lake Area Tech. “My time at Lake Area Tech was valuable. I not only learned about airframes and powerplants, but also about dedication and spirit. I’ve been fortunate enough to apply that to every career adventure I’ve taken. I can easily say that Lake Are Tech gave me the tools I needed to experience several life-changing events.”
