Turn ideas into reality. Civil drafters perform topographic, property, and construction surveys. Their detailed measurements and drawings are then used by civil engineers in construction or engineering projects.
As a student of this 18 month option you'll learn traditional and geospatial surveying techniques. You'll be immersed in computer-aided drafting and design (CADD), learn to decipher blueprints and plans, and create your own preliminary construction plans.
You will also study the strengths, costs, and quantities of construction materials (concrete, asphalt, aggregate, soils), and the in-and-outs of surveying law.
