Cosmetology

To look good is to feel good, and cosmetologists help people look their absolute best! If you enjoy people, are artistically inclined, and want an exciting and rewarding career, then cosmetology could be for you.

As a graduate of our intensive 13 month training program, you could work as a hair stylist, research technician, platform artist, make-up artist, nail technician, competition artist, manufacturer's representative, salon owner, or school owner.

The LATI Cosmetology program is designed to train you in hair, skin and nail care. You will study the fundamentals of cosmetology science and then apply your knowledge with regular hours in the Lake Area Tech Cosmetology Lab – a working, fully operational salon on the Lake Area Tech campus.

Certification: All students are required to take a board examination administered by the South Dakota Cosmetology Commission.
